My Words expands language learning: French language support and new features
My Words now supports learning French for English and Russian speakers, and offers new personalization options: custom translations, pronunciation speed settings, and custom phrases in speaking practice mode.
Learning a new language is much more effective when the process feels natural, flexible, and personalized. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a major My Words update — with French language support and a range of long-awaited improvements.
French language support is here
You can now learn French in My Words if your native language is English or Russian. At the same time, French speakers can now learn English and Russian with the app.
This update opens new opportunities for learners, travelers, students, and professionals who want to improve their communication skills across three major languages. Whether you’re starting from scratch or expanding your vocabulary, My Words now offers an even more convenient multilingual learning experience.
Add your own translations before word processing
We’ve also added the ability to specify your own translations for source words directly in search results — even before automatic processing.
This gives you more control over how you learn words and helps make translations more accurate and suited to your learning goals. The feature is especially useful for:
- words with multiple meanings
- phrases
- slang and idiomatic expressions
- personalized memorization methods
Learning is now even more flexible and precise.
Pronunciation speed settings in Player mode
Pronunciation practice is an important part of language learning, and everyone learns at their own pace.
With new pronunciation speed settings in Player mode, you can slow down or speed up audio playback depending on your listening level and practice goals.
This feature helps:
- beginners distinguish pronunciation more clearly
- intermediate users improve listening comprehension
- advanced learners practice understanding natural speech speed
Custom phrases now available in Phrases Speaking mode
Your own phrases are now fully supported in Phrases Speaking mode.
This means you can practice spoken language with the words and expressions that matter most to you — from travel and work terms to everyday conversation and study materials.
By combining personalized phrases with active speaking practice, My Words makes language learning even more useful and engaging.
